Fitbit payments with Google Wallet

Don't worry, it's completely secure with a passcode and 24-hour authentication. Set up Google Wallet on the latest version of the Fitbit App to continue making contactless payments using your Fitbit device.

How to set up your Fitbit device for contactless payments

Download the latest version of the Fitbit App.
With your device nearby, from the Today tab in the Fitbit App, tap the devices icon.
Tap your device, then tap the Google Wallet tile.
Follow the on-screen instructions to add your FNB Virtual Card.
If you are setting up contactless payments for the first time, you may be prompted to set a 4-digit PIN code for your device. Note that you also need passcode protection enabled on your phone.
After you add a card, follow the on-screen instructions to turn on notifications for your phone (if you haven't already done so) to complete the setup.

Note:

If you have previously registered for Fitbit Pay, those cards have not been migrated from Fitbit Pay, so you need to add them to Google Wallet.
You can add additional cards and choose which card to set as the default payment option on your device from the Google Wallet tile.

How to make a payment

Open the payments screen on your device.

Charge 5 and Charge 6 - Swipe down from the clock face and tap Payments or Google Wallet.
Versa, and Versa 2 - If you chose Fitbit Pay as your button shortcut, hold the button on your watch for 2 seconds to activate it. Otherwise, swipe down from the top of your screen. After your notifications appear, swipe down again to open the control center. Tap the Wallet icon.
Sense and Versa 3 - Open the Wallet app. For faster access to payments, add it as a button shortcut in the Settings app Shortcuts.
Sense 2 and Versa 4 - Open the Google Wallet app or Wallet app. For faster access to payments, add it as a button shortcut in the Settings app Shortcut.
All other devices - When you're ready to pay, press and hold the left button on your device for 2 seconds. Swipe to the payments screen if it's not shown.
When the payment succeeds, your device vibrates and you'll see a confirmation on the screen.

Note:

To make a payment, enter your device PIN code the first time you make a contactless payment since last taking off your device, or if it's been 24 hours since you made a payment.

To access Google Wallet on your Fitbit device, check the Fitbit website to ensure you have a compatible device. Google Wallet on your Fitbit device is available to existing FNB/RMB Private Bank clients who have the latest compatible Fitbit device and have downloaded the Fitbit App onto their smartphones (iOS and Android). Load your FNB card details onto the Fitbit App with Google Wallet, authenticate using the OTP received and make payments with ease from your wrist with just a tap.

What happened to Fitbit Pay?

Fitbit Pay on Fitbit devices has been replaced by Google Pay from 29 July 2024, following Google's prior acquisition of Fitbit. Set up Google Wallet on the latest version of the Fitbit App to continue making contactless payments using your Fitbit device.
